Midland XTC450 Action Camera Review
Midland offers the XTC400 series of action cameras, with a unique design and floating case

Features
Filming at 1080p (30fps, 105 angle of view) and 720p (60fps, 142 angle of view), and with a rotatable lense cap; the Midland XTC450 offers decent video recording capability. It also offers a WiFi connectivity for smartphone and tablets, 12MP stills, and a high-quality 7 element lense.

Accessories
Unlike many GoPro clones, the Midland XTC450 is not compatible with GoPro mounts. Instead, Midland offers a array of accessories specifically for this oblong camera. A few mounts come with the stock camera, plus a very nice high-quality underwater case with a flat lense. There is also a universal screw mount on the bottom. For further attachments, hit up the Midland store.

Function
Simply flip the slider button at the top of the camera to start recording; slide it back to stop recording. That's it! The XTC450 shines in its quick and simple recording, great for quickly catching a shot of a particular fish when snorkeling. Video quality is quite sharp and clear (check out this sample video here from a recent trip to La Jolla: ). It also has a still image function, but must be used in conjunction with smartphone app (not very realistic idea underwater!).

Summary
The XTC450 is a fun camera to use. Filming with it is exceptionally easy and the video quality is excellent. I would prefer better framerate and a wider angle of view, but overall it is a very capable action camera with a great product support team. Check it out on Amazon here!
