Snorkeling California:
And Beyond
Fisherman's Cove, Laguna Beach, California
This smaller cove, nestled between Shaw's and Diver's Coves offers a variety of marine life to view. Disclaimer

Location
Parking is available in the neighborhood above the cove, both metered and unmetered. Please do not block the residents or you may find youself with a hefty ticket. Access is by a sidewalk, just to the right of Diver's Cove, near the Condo. It's very easy to miss, as most people are headed to Diver's Cove.
Snorkel Fisherman's Cove
There is a lot of debris (rocks, shells) along the beach as you enter the water. However, once you get out aways from the shore, you may notice the water clearing up nicely and spot large schools of opal eye, surf perch, and even leapord sharks!
This is one the smallest coves of the popular Laguna coves for snorkeling. It's also heavily frequented by scuba divers thanks to the close access from parking. Also, despite its name, Fisherman's Cove is NOT open to fishing, due to MLPA restrictions.
Rocks and eelgrass provide most of the cover for the fish here. There is also quite a few beautiful tide pools along the NW portion of the beach. At low tide, it's sometimes possible to walk to Shaw's Cove from Fisherman's as well.

Additional Information
This beach is a popular launching point for Stand Up Paddleboardersand kayakers. It's truly quite easy to miss; remember, it is not the same as Diver's Cove, despite their close proxmity!
